All BBA-GLM students must complete the
following courses:

LOG A 290 Special Topics in Logistics
This course provides students with tools to
evaluate logistics and supply chain
management decisions within a special topic
area. Students will learn to evaluate
logistics and supply chain management
decisions based on the total cost consumed
concept. Procurement strategies will be
introduced and related to the concepts of
logistics and supply chain management.
LOG A 378 Management of Global Logistics
Supply Chains
This course provides an introduction to
logistics and supply chain concepts,
structures, design and management. Logistics
and supply chain processes, costs and
decisions will also be discussed.
LOG A 379 Transportation Management
This course outlines the structure and
operating characteristics of the
transportation sector. Transportation
carrier modes will be compared and
contrasted. Procurement and use of
transportation services from a shipper's
perspective will also be discussed.
LOG A 415 Purchasing Management
This course outlines purchasing activities
and cost management techniques. Acquisition
of materials, products and services for
supply chain management will also be
discussed.
LOG A 416 International Logistics and
Transportation Management
This course outlines the logistics
activities of international firms. Global
sourcing, manufacturing, marketing and
transportation will be discussed. Other
issues are: currency and payment procedures,
documentation and the role of governments.
LOG A 417 Materials Management
This course outlines warehouse location,
design and operations. Managing material
flows and packaging issues will also be
discussed.
LOG A 495 Internship in Global Logistics
Management
This internship allows for work experience
in an approved position with supervision and
training in various phases of a global
logistics business organization. The type of
work involved is subject to availability of
particular positions. |
